Minden, NV
Minden Nevada was established in 1905 by H.F. Danberg. Tours of the old Danberg home are still conducted today for a taste of old Minden's roots. Mr. Danbergs vision of Minden was a European style community which would be built around a town square. Minden was named after a German town near where Danberg's father, H.F. Danberg Sr. was born. The V&T Railroad's extension into Carson Valley helped spur Carson Valley's growth into a hub of agriculture.
Minden and Gardnerville Nevada still maintain the small town charm of the past with small Mom and Pop stores restaurants scattered along the highway 50 corridor that runs through them. In fact some of the original buildings still remain intact such as the old Carson Valley Mercantile which has been converted into the aptly fitting, Cheshire Antiques store.
The Local museum provides a look back into some of the original founding family's lives and is a great place to visit to gain further insight into the past of this once small farming community. The Carson Valley remains a favorite destination for the weary traveler to unwind, and take a bit of time off from the fast paced world.
